The 4Th of July!!

We started the day off by doing pop-its. The kids always look forward to. Then we went to my parents house for a BBQ lunch of my Mom's fried chicken, and a ton of other really good food. Then we went with my sister Dianna and my sister Kylee and her fam. to Tanwax Lake ( i think that was the name) to join a bunch of friends from church for a fun day of swimming, more food, and an awesome fireworks show. We got home about 12:00 am and I am way to tired to be posting pictures right now. I'm on a roll and am almost done. :)

My sister Kylee and part of her gang.

My nephew Carson. What a cutie is he! They grow too fast!

Gavin, Colby and Luke. Friends from church.

Brett

Ashlyn waiting for it to get dark so the fireworks would start. By the way...she loved them, and fell asleep part way through. Don't know how that is possible.?.

Brennen promised Dylan when we got home he could let off a few bottle rockets. Sure enough, he kept his promise and they were out there, in the front yard, at midnight letting off the 5 bottle rockets we had. Dylan thought he was pretty special.

The 3rd of July

Since the 4Th is so busy for boating, we decided to go on the 3rd. It was a very hot day, I think about 90 or so, so it was a great day to be at the beach.

Ashlyn loves spraying the water bottle, which is great to cool her down on a hot day.

Our set-up!

The boys had a great time swimming and playing in the sand.

Dylan was very brave and swam out pretty far all by him self. That is an accomplishment for him. I would not consider him a dare devil in any way. Which is a good thing, for the most part.

We forgot our beach toys, so our hands became shovels. It worked fine, and the kids didn't seem to care a bit. We did just happen to have a bucket in the back of the van, and that was good for bring water to make sand castles and a little swimming pool of water.

Our little swimming pool! It kept the kids busy for quite awhile digging and bringing water in to full it. We didn't get a pic of our sand castle...a tradition when we go to the beach.
We had a great time! Thanks Dad and Mom for a great day on the boat, and time with the family!

This was Dylan's 3rd year playing baseball. At the end of the season, his coach's have a big BBQ and a really amazing day of fun for everyone. The kids get to play on the water slide, have water balloon fights, play in the biggest tree house I've ever seen (I always forget to get pics of it, but it is really amazing with 3 stories, and a bridge connecting another part of the tree house together with a swing hanging from under the bridge), get a medal and eat some really good food. We had a great time. About 98% of the people have been on his team since the beginning. Pretty cool!

Honor's Baby Shower!

My friend Teri and I threw a baby shower for our friend Honor at my house last week. I feel horrible that I only got two pictures though. I'm pretty bad at remembering to take pictures. I was having too much fun with everyone I guess.
I'm so excited for Honor to have her first baby boy after having 4 girls. It's fun to experience both sex's. I can't wait to meet baby Quinn!

A day in our back yard.

The kids fight over who gets to water the plants. I love getting help from them no matter how big or small the job is. From picking up a couple cheerios off the ground to putting the dishwasher soap in the dish washer, or watering the plants. It's all wonderfully helpful to me and I am always so thankful. Hopefully they will learn quick that the way to my heart is through helping me with my daily jobs as a mom.

Aren't flowers wonderful? They make me so happy! Gavin has figured out that I love flowers. He always picks a few for me out of the front yard every time we get home from going somewhere. He knows which ones are allowed and which are off limits. He's such a sweet heart!

The boys LOVE their bikes!

Ashlyn could play with the hose all day long. She has a smile on her face the whole time!

Spraying people is even more fun!

So Tired

We had put the kids to bed, and Gavin kept getting out of bed. Finally we got our movie started and part way through the movie, Brennen went to go up stairs to get a drink and found this...Gavin passed out at the top of the stairs. We thought it was pretty funny! He NEVER falls asleep in random places like this. Good thing he was asleep or he would have been in BIG trouble.

A day at the Zoo

Ashlyn loves her sweets! Who doesn't though...right?

The monkey's are my favorite. I think they are so interesting, and cute!

Emily and Brian checking out the monkeys.

The tiger actually was out that day. It was a miracle! It's usually hiding in the bushes no where to be found. We scored. I think the tiger is really cool too.

The Elephants always make me feel bad for them. It's just not enough room for such a large animal, I think. I'm sure the zoo people know more about what is good for the elephants than me, but I still feel sad for them. Hopefully they are loving life more than it looks.

Dylan and Gavin enjoying the day. It must have been a good day to get both boys smiling and standing by each other at the same time. :)

We are listing to the elephant talk. It was interesting the first time we say the show, but not so much the 100Th time. We were with Brennen's family, so we were listening for them. Life is not all about us right?
